Discover Jakarta Tour
Discover Jakarta's culture. Visit Monas, shop batik, visit TMII (Beautiful Indonesia in Miniature Park), and visit the Indonesian Museum.
Take a tour of the National Monument (Monas) at the top of the flame, which represents the nation's independence. The flame is covered with 50 kilograms of sparkling gold leaf. The basement has an exhibit of 50 dioramas, which are like models, showing Indonesia's history from prehistoric times to now.
Next, you can visit Jakarta's spiritual landmarks with a tour of Istiqlal Mosque, Southeast Asia's largest mosque. It's known for its impressive architecture and peaceful atmosphere. Then, visit Jakarta Cathedral Church, a great example of Christian architecture. It has a stunning neo-Gothic style and rich cultural heritage. You'll find a peaceful atmosphere in the heart of Indonesia's capital.
You should visit one of Jakarta's batik shops to see the great selection and interesting permanent exhibition of batik, traditional Indonesian cloth, in both classic and modern designs.
Then, go to the Beautiful Indonesia Miniature Park (Taman Mini Indonesia Indah), a large theme park on the outskirts of Jakarta. The park has miniature replicas of all Indonesian islands in a central lake, with pavilions representing the 33 provinces of Indonesia around it. Each pavilion features traditional architectural styles, cultural items, and exhibits.
Inside Taman Mini Indonesia Indah is Museum Indonesia, a three-story building designed in the traditional Balinese style. The museum has a large collection of Indonesian contemporary arts and crafts, traditional costumes from various regions, puppets, musical instruments, masks, and tools used in daily life.
